Ken Ward
Golden LivingCenter - Mobridge
Mobridge, S.D.
During Thanksgiving 2008, Ken Ward of Timber Lake, S.D., had a lot to be thankful for. After taking a fall in his home and receiving treatment at Mobridge Regional Hospital in Mobridge, S.D., Ken transferred to Golden LivingCenter - Mobridge for short-term rehabilitation. Aegis Therapies provided physical and occupational therapy to help Ken improve as quickly as possible.
"After only two weeks in therapy, Ken was able to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner at his ranch near Timber Lake," Physical Therapist, Amanda Wegh explained.
Sales and Marketing Director, Sharon Martin was even able to take Ken on a short trip during his stay. "I was able to take Ken to the Mobridge Livestock Barn for a morning outing where we met his son Buck," she explained. "He was also able to visit with many people in the area stopping in at the facility. We were happy that he was home to enjoy his kids and grandkids for the holidays this year. He now comes in for weekly outpatient therapy."
Ken's story embodies the mission of The Golden Difference, the focus of which is to help people return to their lives as quickly as possible after an illness, injury or surgery.
Martin explains, "At Golden LivingCenters, we work together with our patients and health care providers to develop a care plan that creates the best possible opportunity for discharge to home and safely and confidently in the time for holiday celebrations. We want you home enjoying the best the holidays have to offer with your friends and family!"
